Access Canberra investigates complaints about traders and businesses who break the law or engage in unfair practices.

The Commissioner for Fair Trading issues public warning statements to identify and warn the public about:

  • goods that are unsatisfactory or dangerous and people who supply those goods
  • services that are supplied in an unsatisfactory way and people who supply those services
  • commercial practices that are unfair and people who engage in those practices
  • anything else that adversely the community in relation to the goods or services.

19 September 2022: DSJB Group

The ACT Commissioner for Fair Trading has issued a Public Warning Notice about DSJB Group Pty Ltd (ACN 655 897 359) for possible contraventions of the Australian Consumer Law.

Canberrans are being warned about DSJB Group following allegations of the company accepting deposits and then failing to commence or complete roof maintenance and repair services.

Canberrans have been left out of pocket with the alleged losses totalling approximately $94,000, excluding the costs in engaging another tradesperson to complete the unfinished work.

The Commissioner is urging Canberrans to be vigilant if choosing to enter into any agreement with DSJB Group and to undertake their due diligence when entering into any contracts for similar services.

26 October 2018: Mr Solar

Canberra consumers are being warned not to engage with Dominion General Group of Companies Pty Ltd (ABN 97 605 383 293), which trades as Mr Solar, Mr Solar Canberra and Mr Solar Australia within the ACT and/or its sole director Mr Rajan Walia.

The ACT Fair Trading Commissioner is concerned that Mr Rajan Walia and his businesses Mr Solar, Mr Solar Canberra and Mr Solar Australia are accepting upfront payments from Canberra consumers, but failing to deliver products.

The Commissioner urges anyone who has had problems in their dealings with Mr Rajan Walia, Mr Solar, Mr Solar Canberra or Mr Solar Australia within the ACT to contact Access Canberra.
