Taking your photo at a service centre
Find out what to do when you get your photo taken at an Access Canberra Service Centre.
The photo may be for a:
- driver licence
- proof of identity card
- Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card
- high risk work licence.
Guidelines for your photo
When we take your photo, we ask you to:
- remove your glasses or sunglasses, even if you need them to drive
- take off any headphones or earbuds (you can leave hearing aids in place)
- make sure your hair is not covering your face, particularly your eyes and eyebrows
- sit up straight and look directly at the camera with your eyes open
- not smile – have a neutral expression with your mouth closed.
Headwear
You may only wear a head covering for religious or cultural purposes. Other hats or costume wigs cannot be worn during the photo.
You must adjust your head covering so that:
- your whole face is visible, from your chin to your forehead, and both sides of your face
- no shadows are cast on your face.
