Taking your photo at a service centre - Access Canberra

Find out what to do when you get your photo taken at an Access Canberra Service Centre.

The photo may be for a:

driver licence
proof of identity card
Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card
high risk work licence.

Guidelines for your photo

When we take your photo, we ask you to:

remove your glasses or sunglasses, even if you need them to drive
take off any headphones or earbuds (you can leave hearing aids in place)
make sure your hair is not covering your face, particularly your eyes and eyebrows
sit up straight and look directly at the camera with your eyes open
not smile – have a neutral expression with your mouth closed.

Headwear

You may only wear a head covering for religious or cultural purposes. Other hats or costume wigs cannot be worn during the photo.

You must adjust your head covering so that:

your whole face is visible, from your chin to your forehead, and both sides of your face
no shadows are cast on your face.
