If your electric, hybrid or hydrogen-powered vehicle was built after 1 January 2019 you must display an ‘EV’ label.

Most vehicles will come from the dealer with the labels already attached.

The label goes on the front and rear numberplates.

The labels alert first responders like police, firefighters and paramedics to any hazards they represent at the scene of an accident.

Without the labels the first responders may unknowingly expose themselves to danger.

If you don’t display the labels, you may receive an infringement notice.

If you need to get a new EV label, you can buy them from auto part retailers or online. Access Canberra does not supply EV labels.
