Medical professional parking permits

If you are a medical practitioner or a community nurse, you may be eligible for a parking permit.

Medical practitioners

Medical practitioner parking permits allow the holder to park the vehicles they nominate in areas reserved for medical practitioners.

These permits don’t allow you to park in other reserved parking areas.

You can apply for one of 3 types of medical practitioner parking permits:

Central Business District (Unrestricted) medical practitioner parking permit – you can stop or park your vehicle in any medical practitioner parking permit zone in the ACT. They are valid for 12 months.
Outside Central Business District (Excludes City) medical practitioner parking permit – you can stop or park your vehicle in ACT hospitals and designated medical practitioner parking zones within ACT suburbs where pay parking applies, except in the CBD. The included suburbs are Phillip (Woden), Belconnen, Greenway (Tuggeranong), Griffith (Manuka), Kingston, Dickson and Deakin. They are valid for 12 months.
ACT Hospitals and Non-Paying Areas (Restricted) medical practitioner parking permit – you can stop or park your vehicle in all ACT hospitals and designated medical practitioner parking zones within ACT suburbs where non-paid parking applies. They are valid for 12 months.

Community nurse parking permits allow the holder to park in restricted areas so they can render medical attention to people in the community.

You can nominate one vehicle to use the permit with.

There is no fee for community nurse parking permits.

complete an Application for a Parking Permit (PDF 156KB)
provide your ACT driver licence. If you’re unable to, you’ll need to provide full proof of identity
if you’re applying for a medical practitioner parking permit, pay the fee. If you apply by email or post, Access Canberra will contact you for payment.

The permits will be posted to the address you nominate.
