If you are a medical practitioner or a community nurse, you may be eligible for a parking permit.

Medical practitioners

Medical practitioner parking permits allow the holder to park the vehicles they nominate in areas reserved for medical practitioners.

These permits don’t allow you to park in other reserved parking areas.

You can apply for one of 3 types of medical practitioner parking permits:

  • Unrestricted medical practitioner parking permit: you can use this at hospitals, paid parking and non-paid parking areas anywhere. They are valid for 12 months.
  • Excludes city medical practitioner parking permit: you can use this at hospitals, paid parking and non-paid parking areas outside of the Canberra CBD. They are valid for 12 months.
  • Medical practitioner parking permit: you can use this at hospitals and non-paid parking areas. They are valid for 12 months.

Community nurses

Community nurse parking permits allow the holder to park in restricted areas so they can render medical attention to people in the community.

You can nominate one vehicle to use the permit with.

There is no fee for community nurse parking permits.
