Your request will be acknowledged within 2 business days. Our team seeks to facilitate a request within 10 business days from the date it was received.

Note: Records of manual driving tests taken before 1999 are not available. Requests for certified copies of these results cannot be processed.

Requests from legal practitioners, insurance companies, MAI Insurance providers

All requests from legal practitioners, insurance companies and MAI insurance providers following an accident, must be submitted in writing to the Access Canberra Document Management Team.

The request can be sent to Access Canberra by:

  • submitting the online form
  • post to GPO Box 158 Canberra ACT 2601.

Interstate licence history search

If you have an interstate driver licence, contact the state or territory which issued it.

If you need the licence history so you can get an ACT driver licence, you must attend an Access Canberra Service Centre within 7 calendar days of receiving it.

Both a licence and traffic history are needed for Queensland licence holders.
